DFZ INTERVIEWS MATT GILES: PART 4!

We've got some more questions and answers for you guys - from Ball Durham lead reporter Matt Giles.

5. How patient should we, as Duke fans, be about Jon Scheyer?

I feel we should be extremely patient about Jon Scheyer forever. What I mean here is I trust that if Scheyer was to struggle for several years in a row, then he would know the right time for Duke's sake to let someone else have a crack at returning the program to the Coach K glory days. In other words, he'd hang it up on his own if it ever came to that. Again, though, I don't think it will.

Also, in a way, it wouldn't bother me if Scheyer struggled in his first year or two before figuring out his winning way as a head coach. I might be more worried by the thought of Duke reaching a Final Four or winning the whole shebang in his first year or two and then proceeding to never again find the championship magic for years to come.

6. Some people think we should rename Cameron after Coach K, which people are calling Cameron-Krzyzewski Indoor Stadium. What do you think about this, or is there a better way to honor him?

I'm not a fan of changing the name of Cameron. It's a historic building. It has a name. Everyone knows and respects that name. No need to mess with a good thing. I would, however, be a fan of a giant Coach K statue forever standing right in front of the main entrance. No matter what happens, though, all those banners aren't going anywhere, and they pretty much say it all.

Again, I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Matt Giles for giving us this OUTSTANDING content. Next time you have free-time, go check out Ball Durham.
