Why is Evans so remarkable?
Isaiah Evans, a small forward out of Charlotte, NC averaged 27.4 PPG, with 6.1 RPG his senior year, to lead the North Mecklenburg Vikings to a state title. Evans is a McDonalds All-American, and two time North Carolina Mr. Basketball. During the NCSHAA State Playoffs, Evans averaged 38.6 PPG over 5 games.
Why did Evans choose Duke?
Evans was offered by other top schools such as Kansas, Tennessee, and Auburn, but choose Duke because he "liked how they went in-depth with how they were going to use (him)". He also stated that “They showed (him) certain games with certain players with how (he'd) would fit into their system."
How long has Evans been playing basketball?
In an interview with DFZ in April, Isaiah stated that he began playing basketball competitively in 7th Grade, and really began trying then.
